One of the central aims of CaIQuE is to enhance research and education across the Institute by allowing for personnel exchange between participating campuses and research groups.  Specifically, we have set aside funds to support undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers who want to spend time collaborating with a CaIQuE research group not located at their home institution.  The typical duration for an undergraduate research opportunity would be for the summer term.  The typical duration for a graduate student or postdoctoral research exchange would be 1-2 weeks.

Students and postdocs who are interested in pursuing this opportunity should reach out to their potential research host, discuss their interests, mutually define a specific research activity that they wish to pursue, and have one of the CaIQuE PIs at their home institution review and approve their request.

Please find below a CaIQuE research exchange form that we have put together.  Our recommendation is that every student or postdoc interested in pursuing this possibility should print out the form and bring it on hand to the CaIQuE meeting.  Take advantage of everybody being in one place to explore the possibility of research exchanges, and aim to complete the form by the end of the meeting.

We’re excited to be able to provide this opportunity, and even more excited to see all the great science that will come out of it.
