Berkeley Quantum Science and Technology Seminar
The Center for Quantum Coherent Science (CQCS) is hosting a series of seminars to explore core ideas in quantum science and technology (QST). World-leading experts in the field are invited to discuss the state of quantum science and technology, the grand goals, opportunities and challenges that stand currently before the field, and the unique role that the Berkeley quantum science community can and should play in the coming years. Following each seminar, the Berkeley quantum science community — students, postdocs, and faculty alike — is invited to participate in discussions and brain-storming.
We encourage participation from all across the UC Berkeley and LBNL campuses. QST is a broad field that must engage expertise from multiple disciplines, including chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, materials science, and physics, to uncover the deep significance and realize the broad promise of quantum science and quantum information across fields.
Seminars are held normally on Wednesdays, from 11 am - 12 noon, in 375 LeConte Hall. Refreshments and a discussion will follow. Speakers should prepare ~50 minute presentations, with an emphasis on identifying goals, opportunities and challenges, and with the intention of provoking productive discussions during and after the talk. Specific audio-visual needs beyond LCD projectors should be requested of the organizers before the talk.
